What is a Pet Health Certificate and How Can You Get One?

Traveling with your pet requires careful preparation to meet health and legal requirements. Whether you are flying domestically or internationally, a veterinary health certificate is often required to ensure your pet is fit for travel.

At Town & Country Animal Hospital, we provide official health certificates for pets traveling within the United States and abroad. Before a health certificate can be issued, your pet must have a full examination by one of our veterinarians. This evaluation ensures that your pet is healthy enough to travel and meets all necessary requirements. A certificate cannot be issued without an in-person visit.

Why Do I Need A Health Certificate For My Pet?

These Health Certificates confirm that your pet is in good health and up to date on all mandatory core vaccinations, including rabies, among other things. Since every country and airline has different requirements, it is important to check the specific regulations for your destination well in advance.

Next Steps
