Gold-Standard Surgery
Safe, effective, trusted surgical care.
Soft Tissue
These surgeries include exploratory, intestinal resection, liver lobectomy, cystotomy
, gall bladder removal, tumor removal (skin, oral and internal), general surgery, and anal sacculectomy or more commonly know as "anal gland removal". Our Doctors are also capable of performing numerous specialty surgeries that in many other veterinary clinics would be referred out to specialists. We do, however, maintain close working relationships with a number of fine specialty centers in our area for unique or exceptional cases.

Orthopedics
These surgeries are of particular importance as the conditions they treat tend to be
extremely common in our pets. Orthopedic surgeries performed include fracture repair, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) repair, patellar luxation repair, femoral head ostectomy surgery, and osteochondritis (OCD) of the shoulder and elbow surgery.

Anesthesia & Monitoring
Anesthesia and cardiovascular monitoring are important, integral aspects of every
surgery. For this reason, Town & Country Animal Hospital provides the best and most advanced anesthetic administration and cardiovascular monitoring equipment and protocols available.
Anesthesia is individualized for your pet based on a number of factors, which includes the type of procedure, his or her preexisting conditions, blood test values, age, breed, and prior anesthetic experience.
During anesthesia and surgery, your pet is constantly monitored by a trained veterinary technician using our advanced monitoring system. The system helps us continuously monitor your pet's arterial oxygen level, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and core body temperature. +

Pain Management
Pain management is an important component of your pet's surgery. At Town & Country
Animal Hospital, we know that animals experience pain and discomfort in much the same way that humans do. Therefore, we believe that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. The more comfortable your pet is, the faster he or she will heal.
Our protocols are tailored to the individual needs of your pet. Premedication, post and after-care medication are used in all surgical cases and will vary depending on the procedure being performed. At discharge, we may also send additional pain management medication home with you and your pet after providing a thorough explanation of its proper use and dosage.
If you have any further questions about Town & Country Animal Hospital's surgical services, please feel free to contact our team. We also recommend reviewing the American College of Veterinary Surgeons website (ACVS.org) for general information about many surgical diseases and their treatment. +
