Eric Wenke, DVM

miami veterinarianFounding owner and general practitioner Dr. Eric Wenke received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Florida International University, Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Araneta University and is a graduate of the Veterinary Management Institute at Purdue University. He is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, Florida Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Dental Society. His professional interests within veterinary medicine include Dentistry, Radiology and Internal medicine. He also has continuing education certifications in Ultrasound, Dentistry, Dermatology and Animal Behavior.

In 1980, Dr. Wenke started his practice in South Florida as a Veterinarian treating horses in Dade and Broward County. In 1985, Dr. Wenke built the first Town & Country Animal Hospital at the Country Walk Shopping Plaza. Dr. Mordaunt joined him in 1990 as Veterinarian in charge of Medical and Surgical Services. When Hurricane Andrew destroyed Country Walk and the first Town & Country Animal Hospital, Dr. Wenke designed and built the new Town & Country Animal Hospital at its current location. In 1997, Dr. Wenke was acknowledged for his unique and innovative design concepts and Town & Country Animal Hospital received national recognition for design excellence as the 1997 Animal Hospital of the Year.

In his spare time Dr. Wenke and his wife travel extensively and he is an avid sailor and photographer.

Michael Mordaunt, DVM

vets in miamiOwner and general practitioner Michael Mordaunt, DVM, says that his natural affinity for animals and his love of medical science led him to become a veterinarian. A native of upstate New York, he also enjoys the variety of experiences and challenges his job affords him. He became partner and owner at Town & Country Animal Hospital in 1990.

Dr. Mordaunt received his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from Florida International University in 1974 and graduated from Araneta University with a veterinary degree in 1980. His professional interests within veterinary medicine include ophthalmology, surgery and internal medicine. He also has continuing education certifications in orthopedics, surgery, dentistry, dermatology, animal behavior and endocrinology.

In his spare time, Dr. Mordaunt enjoys the company of several animals and also has many hobbies. He has two Jack Russell Terriers named Pete and Boulie, two Shih Tzus named Foxy Lady and Luna, and a tri-color cat named Fluffy. A private pilot, Dr. Mordaunt also enjoys photography, hiking, camping and painting watercolors.

Catalina Kesserü, DVM

miami area veterinarianDr. Catalina Kesserü, was born in Berlin, Germany and raised in Peru and Argentina. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 and successfully completed the ECFVG (Educational Commission for Foreign Graduates) in 2008 and has been a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association since 2009.

Her special interests are internal medicine, endocrinology, and dentistry. She also enjoys fencing and jogging in her spare time. Dr. Kesserü is happy to communicate in Spanish, German, and Hungarian as well.

Victoria Koehler, DVM

miami area veterinarianDr. Victoria Koehler was born and raised in New Jersey. She grew up horseback riding and had a love for animals as early as she can remember. She attended Tufts University for college and graduated with honors, majoring in biology and psychology.

Dr. Koehler then went on to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. There she held three positions in the hospital during veterinary school in the internal medicine, general practice and surgery departments. She also completed several research projects focusing mainly on orthopedics and genetics and has presented her research at the national Merial-NIH Veterinary Student Scholars Symposium. During veterinary school, Dr. Koehler earned numerous awards and scholarships through the AVMA and Merck Animal Health. Victoria was additionally chosen by the hospital clinicians to receive an award for a special dedication to feline medicine and compassionate care.

Dr. Koehler decided to move to the beautiful state of Florida after veterinary school. She has since completed additional courses and training at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in canine rehabilitation therapy (CCRP). She is very excited to be a part of the Town and Country Animal Hospital team and to take care of your important four-legged family members. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but is particularly passionate about surgery, orthopedics and emergency medicine. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, yoga and cooking. Dr. Koehler lives in Coconut Grove and has a long-haired black cat named Luna.
